On an average, approximately eighteen people are dying every day across the country in drunk and driving mishaps.
Most of the drunken people deceive themselves by assuming that what the harm as I got home safely and no one was hurt. But just because someone made it safely to their home does not guarantee a safe ride for everyone. It is pure luck, so choosing to drive after the drink is a wrong decision for your rightful life.
Alcohol effects in a way that changes victim’s judgment, depth perception as well as vital motor skills required to drive safely. Drinking alcohol can have a profound effect on driving skills.
Drinking can have a negative effect on any of these skills:
Reaction Time – Alcohol can slow reflexes, which can drastically reduce the ability to react swiftly to changing situations.
Vision – Alcohol can slow eye muscle function, alter eye movement, and alter visual perception, possibly resulting in blurred vision. Night vision and color perception also can be impaired.
Tracking – Alcohol can reduce the ability to judge the car’s position on the road, or the location of other vehicles, center line, or road signs.
Concentration – Alcohol may cause attention to driving to decrease and/or drowsiness to occur.
Comprehension – Alcohol can hinder the ability to make rational decisions
Coordination – Reduced eye/hand/foot coordination can be caused by drinking too much alcohol.

With a slogan ‘Together we can make a Difference’ – We (Students and Teachers) at GreenOaks High School regularly conduct campaigns to promote awareness in public and to reduce alcohol-related accidents.
